British Brass “Merryweather” Fire Helmet: Original Victorian Era
Original Item: Just imported from England, these are the “Merryweather” pattern
brass fire helmets first introduced in 19th century Victorian England which were
still in active service through World War II and used in Ceremonial Parades today.
Magnificent all brass construction with massive comb on top and impressive front
plate badge showing crossed fire axes, etc. Each helmet comes complete with
brass scaled chin strap. The brass may show slight storage dents; however, these
helmets are in excellent display condition, having each been fitted with brand
new leather liners. Obtained by us directly from the current supplier to the British
Fire Service
