French Napoleon’s Hussars Cavalry Sabre
a reproduction of Napoleon’s hussars Sabre, in
French : Sabre de Chasseur á cheval, type 1803.
Its curved steel blade is 86 cms./33.8″ long. On
the blade you find the inscription “Klingenthal
1813″ Total length of sabre (blade in steel
scabbard with 2 carrying rings) is 106 cms/41.5”.
Weight : 2.2 kgs/ 4.8 lbs. Its handguard has three
bars and its grip has a leather lining with a brass
stud in its centre. It is ideal for display and a
famous sabre for re-enactors. . Too many of
these sabres must have been lost in Napoleon’s
battles from Austerlitz to Waterloo, so that
original sabres are very rare and thus very
expensive for collectors.
